Dealer Auction’s core purpose is to help automotive businesses buy and sell used vehicles online, faster and smarter than any other platform. Customers include Manufacturer’s; Fleet & Leasing companies; Franchise and Independent Retailers. Transacting over 100,000 vehicles every year, Dealer Auction attracts over 5500 buyers and 1200 sellers. As buying and selling moves away from traditional methods into online solutions, Dealer Auction is leading the way.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking to expand our awesome team to take advantage of new market opportunities. Our parent company Auto Trader provides a platform to advertise over 350,000 privately sold consumer vehicles each year. We have a very exciting opportunity to evolve their solution, making these vehicles available to our dealer customers to purchase through our own platform. The potential is huge and this is an amazing opportunity to help develop the right solution.
Scope of the Role:
It takes pretty incredible people to make sure our customers are always happy. People like you. People who are just a little bit obsessed about customer satisfaction and achieving results.
Our new initiative brings a different dynamic to our business and you have the chance to help us make it a success. Our goal is to give customers even more choice when it comes to buying used vehicles to retail at their dealership. You will have the opportunity to make this a reality by managing the end to end process from consumer through to dealer. You will guide consumers on how to build the best advert, make these vehicles available for auction, negotiate the best price from buying dealers and close the sale.
You will use your skills and knowledge to ensure that the consumer and dealer both receive an amazing experience throughout the process. Managing expectations, resolving possible contention, and appreciating the differing needs of both consumers and dealers will be crucial to making the role a success.
The role gives you scope to really demonstrate your capability and let your personality shine through. You will communicate with Auto Traders consumers and liaise with Dealer Auctions dealers ensuring the relationships you forge drive the right results for the business. Transacting sales drives revenue growth, so hitting conversion rates and achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction will be at the top of your ‘to do’ list!
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

You must be able to demonstrate a level of diligence and attention to detail that supports accuracy, honesty and transparency.
You will have a natural ability to build relationships, adapting your approach when communicating with consumers versus dealers.
You will have the confidence to be fair, empathetic but commanding when liaising between consumer and dealer.
Your sales skills will match your service skills. You will need to be an influencer, a negotiator and a closer, expressing your own style to bring authenticity to the role.
As well as awesome communication skills you will be experienced in all forms of interaction, confident regardless of the channel.

Previous experience isn’t everything as we invest in our people, so being able to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed will go a long way.
If you have it already however, automotive or consumer sales experience may be beneficial.
