Dealer Auction is a digital business leading the way in the transformation of automotive remarketing. A joint venture between Auto Trader and Cox Automotive, we are the UK’s largest online wholesale marketplace.
Dealer Auction’s core purpose is to help automotive businesses buy and sell used vehicles online, faster and smarter than any other platform. Customers include Manufacturer’s; Fleet & Leasing companies; Franchise and Independent Retailers. Transacting over 120,000 vehicles every year, Dealer Auction attracts over 5,000 buyers and 4000 sellers. Auto Trader’s primary activity is to help vehicle retailers compete effectively on the Marketplace in order to sell more vehicles, faster. The Marketplace brings together the largest and most engaged consumer audience, Autotrader.co.uk attracts around 44.5 million monthly cross-platform visits on its sites, with around 68% of visits coming through mobile devices, with the largest pool of vehicle sellers (listing more than 400,000 cars each day). In fact over 80% of all time spent on classified sites is spent on Auto Trader.
Role:
This role plays a huge part in the digital transformation of the automotive industry so we will need you to be passionate about driving change, increasing market penetration and delivering success for customers from all sectors including franchise & independent dealers, fleets, rental companies & captive finance houses.
Are you excited by winning new business? We would love to see applications from individuals that have proven success in a new business role. You will have a consultative sales approach, building key client relationships and identifying business opportunities with the ability to clearly articulate our product offering. You must be able to handle customer objections and turn them positively into a successful sell.
As you will be responsible for generating leads, negotiating and closing business deals, you will be tenacious, determined and dedicated to achieving your targets. You will manage your own pipeline, so being organised and prioritising effectively will be important to ensure success. You will be confident in making appointments over the phone and have an incredible track record in converting sales.
You will take an active interest in our marketplace and competitor activity, helping to further define our key differentiators and develop our proposition. There will also be opportunities to represent Dealer Auction at conferences and events, generating campaigns and working with our partners.

- Proven success in delivering B2B new business
- You will be confident presenting at all levels
- You will have experience of sales negotiation and able to demonstrate awesome influencing skills
- You will have strong communication skills and be able to uphold the Dealer Auction values
- You will be highly organised, self-motivated and very driven
- Ability to build and nurture strong client relationships and great at handling customers
- Be able to demonstrate your desire to win
- Comfortable working under pressure in a target led role
- Knowledge of and experience within the automotive industry is desirable
