Manheim Vehicle Services provides the physical operations required by manufacturers, fleets and dealers for the operation of scalable and intelligent retail, in-life and defleet programmes.
Demand for whole-life vehicle services is growing, through our acquisition of C. Walton Ltd., we’ve invested heavily in infrastructure, technologies and expertise to ensure we’re future-fit. Our six dedicated sites boast capacity for over 250,000 vehicles annually while state-of-the-art facilities mean vehicles are processed efficiently, sustainably, and swiftly.
The Coventry site is currently one of our smaller scale sites room for growth and now sits within MVS. The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and commercial success of the with whole of the MVS Coventry.
Scope of Role:
The role of Operations Manager is essential to the success of the Coventry site. You will have proven experience in a production environment with good knowledge of the automotive industry.
You will be required to manage and drive all aspects of vehicle process management ensuring all vehicles are processed efficiently, effectively and meeting customer SLA’s whilst delivering excellent customer service.
Heading up the operations team you will be responsible for ensuring all team members are adhering to standard operating practices and HSE requirements.
The below tasks and objectives provide an overview of what the role will encompass. However daily tasks and responsibilities may vary dependant on business need.
Objectives for Role:
- To lead the operations teams in their day to day duties, responsible for all aspects of people management, including performance, training and development in line with our guided principles.
- Responsible for the co-ordination of Health & Safety, ensuring all H&S tasks and training is completed in a timely manner .
- Responsibility for the co-ordination of facilities maintenance.
- Effectively communicate and undertake structured meetings to ensure all team members are updated in line with current communication practices.
- Work closely with team leads to regularly assess resource requirements and implement a cost effective workforce plan to ensure we meet SLA’s.
- Continuously review processes with key stake holders to maximise productivity and efficiencies where possible.
- Build robust relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure we are working together effectively and delivering excellent customer service.
- Ensure all internal and external queries and complaints are reviewed, investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
- Work closely with relevant stake holders including tenants to implement and maintain a tight security process at site.
- Responsible for robust and effective key security at site.
- Manage all areas of stock control ensuring regular stock checks are carried out.
- Produce and analyse operational reporting packs and address as necessary.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
- Previous experience within an automotive and production role.
- Knowledge of headcount management and budgeting.
- Proven track record of leading and managing teams.
- Proven track record of working within and meeting SLA and KPI requirements.
- Proven experience within an Operational/Production environment
- Background in a fast-paced business environment
- Proven track record of improving performance and profitability through process efficiency.
