The Portfolio and Change Team are part of Enterprise Technology and are responsible for delivering the Business and Technology change roadmap as prioritised by the Exec Team for Cox Automotive UK & Europe.
The Portfolio consists of many initiatives of varying nature, scale and complexity often with an impact on the Enterprise Operating Model. Change initiatives are primarily focussed on enabling strategy and realising value through a combination of people, process and technology change, with measurable outcomes.
This role will support our eVA Valuations & Appraisals team business unit.
The eVA team are looking for talented and dedicated individuals to join our vehicle valuations and appraisal business, delivering creative solutions across the automotive lifecycle. The team works collaboratively with key business customers, IT and development colleagues and the wider Cox Automotive Group. As a member of the team, you will contribute to the delivery of leading-edge solutions in an interesting, engaging and supportive environment. The Technology Delivery Manager acts as the lynchpin in our technical teams, ensuring that projects are well defined, planned and managed so that agreed milestones are achieved to time, cost and quality. In essence, the Technology Delivery Manager drives the technical workstream for one or more projects, coordinating across technical teams to ensure a fully integrated technical delivery to agreed time, cost and quality.
As a new role within a maturing team, the Technology Delivery Manager will also play a key role in defining, trialling, embedding and refining new ways of working that increase quality and certainty of outcome from Technical Delivery teams. This element of the role is of equal importance to day-to-day delivery.
- Managing Cross engineering and technology team delivery [Squads, third parties and infra/technical teams across enterprise] to drive successful outcomes for complex technology deliveries.
- Cross team liaison [Product, Portfolio, Engineering (Dev/QA), Infra].
- Lead and co-ordinate the end-to-end release process to ensure smooth and reliable software releases.
- Manage daily releases across both web and mobile platforms, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing services.
- Dependency management [identification, resolution and escalation].
- Liaison and alignment with Squads through various ceremonies, sometimes taking on scrum master activities where necessary in order to drive the delivery.
- Reporting collated progress and challenges to the Programme/Project Management team(s) and to the Product Engineering Management.
- Proactively identify potential release bottlenecks or challenges and work with the team to find effective solutions.
- Supporting new process definition and improvement [templates, activities, meetings, roles etc].
- Active involvement in quarterly planning.
- Direct involvement across the Solution Delivery Lifecycle (Design, Build, SIT/UAT & Release/Warranty).
- Alignment on cross team deployment and release planning.
- Alignment with Release Management team(s) and processes.
- Support unblocking technical issues.
- Support triage resolution cross-team through delivery lifecycle.
Skills & Experience:
- Methodology: You are familiar with both Waterfall and Agile delivery techniques and can adapt and apply these pragmatically to best meet the needs of the programme. You can represent and be an advocate for these tools and techniques but are also keen to understand and apply opportunities for improvement.
- Tooling: You are familiar with common delivery tools such as MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, Tableau etc. and know how to use these to plan and manage current deliveries whilst capturing data to drive learnings and improvements for future iterations.
- Communication Skills: You know how to communicate effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels. You can advocate and communicate what a team does to create trust and authenticity. You know how to successfully react and respond to challenge whilst maintaining positive working relationships.
- Planning: You take a rigorous approach to planning, forecasting, estimating and tracking progress whilst retaining the ability to manage uncertainty and adapt plans when necessary. You know how to communicate plans and progress to a range of stakeholders. You ensure teams are aware of and focused on the top priorities and can intervene or escalate as appropriate to achieve desired goals.
- Team Dynamics and Collaboration: You know how to build and maintain successful delivery teams, taking into account team styles and how people work together. You have the ability to provide objective, constructive feedback, resolve conflicts within the team and maintain morale and purpose during challenging periods.
- Experience in release management, with a focus on managing CI/CD processes and releasing across both web and mobile platforms.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps). Knowledge of mobile and web-based software development.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver on time in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of stakeholders. Proven experience in managing communications around the release process.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on proactive problem identification and solution implementation.
